June 6,2002   Filmmaker Interviews, a web magazine dedicated to interviewing independent filmmakers has selected Trailer: The Movie! writer/director Douglas Horn for it's June issue. T:TM! Dances With Films

June 5,2002    Trailer: The Movie! has been selected to show as a special screening at the DancesWithFilms Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA in July. DancesWithFilms is unique among film festivals in that it only selects truly independent films with absolutely no name actors, directors, or producers. The Hollywood Reporter calls DancesWithFilms"The defiant fest of raw talent." Trailer: The Movie! will screen on Monday, July 15th at 9:30 PM preceding the feature Reality Check. The screening will be held at Laemmle's Monica 4-Plex at 1332 Second Street, Santa Monica, CA. Contact DancesWithFilms for ticket information.

Trailer! at the Staller Center for the Arts

May 6, 2002     The Stony Brook Film Festival has selected Trailer: The Movie! for its 7th annual festival of independent film at the Staller Center for the Arts. T:TM! will precede Don't Let Go starring Bo Hopkins and Katherine Ross. The films are scheduled to screen July 19th at 8:45pm at the Staller Center for the Arts, Stony Brook University, Long Island, NY. Please see the festival web site for more information.

 

Jerry Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, and Trailer: The Movie!

May 3, 2002     On Tuesday, May 21st, Trailer: The Movie! will screen with The Independent starring Jerry Stiller and Janeane Garofalo as part of the 5th Annual Stanford Alumni Film Festival. The Independent, an irreverent comedy directed by Stephen Kessler features a standout performance by Jerry Stiller as an independent filmmaker of questionable taste and talent. May 21, 2002, 7:30pm. Culver Studios, 9050 W. Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA. (Just down the street from Sony Studios.)

 

FINALIST in National Short Film & Video Competition

April 28 , 2002     The National Short Film & Video Competition hosted by the USA Film Festival in Dallas, TX has named Trailer: The Movie! a finalist in it's 24th annual competition for the best short films in the country. More details available soon on the festival web site.

 

T:TM! invited to Nantucket Film Festival

April 19 , 2002     The Nantucket Film Festival has invited Trailer: The Movie! to screen at its 7th annual film festival on June 20-23, 2002. Established in 1996, the Nantucket Film Festival showcases innovative voices in film and highlights the screenwriters who created them. Since its inception, NFF has been dedicated to the notion that the writer's contribution is at the core of all good filmmaking. The festival offers both jury awards and audience awards for best feature film and best short film. Screening times will be posted when announced.

 

Trailer: The Movie! to play four festivals in April '02

March 10, 2002     Trailer: The Movie! has been selected to play in four major film festivals in April 2002. The most prominent of the group is the Taos Talking Picture Festival in Taos, NM April 11-14th. The Taos Talking Picture Festival was named a "Top Ten Film Festival" by the 1999 edition of Chris Gore's Film Festival Survival Guide.

The other festivals are the San Diego International Film Festival (San Diego, CA) April 1-14th, the Palm Beach International Film Festival (Palm Beach, FL) April 11-18th, and the Newport Beach Film Festival (Newport Beach, CA) April 11-19th. Each festival is a competitive program in which T:TM! will compete for awards.

At Taos, T:TM! is scheduled to play twice as part of the "Stories" short film program, which the festival program bills as, "A kind of primer [of] powerful storytelling using film." It will play at the Storyteller Cinemas II, Friday, April 12 at 10:30 am and Sunday, April 14 at 4:45 pm. Notable attendees of the festival will include Susan Sarandon, William Hurt, Joey Lauren Adams, Tony Shaloub, John Sayles, and Haskell Wexler.

At San Diego, T:TM! is scheduled for the "A Shorts Night" program. Saturday, April 6th at 7:00pm at the Price Center Theater on the UC San Diego campus.

At Palm Beach, T:TM! is scheduled to play Saturday, April 13th, 7:00 pm at the Crown Abacoa Theater in Jupiter, FL, and again on Thursday, April 18th, 9:45 pm at the Regal Delray 18 in Delray Beach, FL. Additional festival details are still pending. Notable attendees of the festival include Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, James Whitmore, and Brett Ratner.

At Newport Beach, T:TM! is scheduled to play as part of the "Big City Shorts" short film program Tuesday, April 15th 5:00 pm at the Edwards Island Cinemas.
